Westside ‘Highly Commended’ at AHI awards

Westside were nominated for 2 awards at the recent 2017 Australian Housing Institute (AHI) awards.

Leading Asset Management – Highly Commended
Westside is learning from our ex co-opers with a more collaborative model of maintenance and asset management. We have improved our data collection, increased home sustainability targets and focused on local contractors for our maintenance service. We have also increased trust and satisfaction levels; especially with our former cooperative tenants who make up 25% of our tenant community.

Tenant Lead Initiative – Nomination
This nomination was in celebration of the amazing talents of one of Westside’s tenants. Felicity, is a former A-Grade journalist and has taken over the transformation of the newsletter Inside Westside and improved the way in which we engage customers. We are aiming for this publication to be 50% tenant driven and Felicity is making this happen. Over 90% of our tenants read Inside Westside. Since being involved, Felicity has increased tenant participation in developing content, procuring free movie tickets and changing the perception of community housing tenants. She has displayed a successful model of tenant participation that Westside as an organisation will emulate into the future.

Being nominated for both awards was a great honour and showed us that as an organisation, our focus on our customers is the right one.
